WHAT IS PLASMA BLAST?

Plasma blast is a non-surgical procedure for skin tightening, which can help achieve browlift as well as eyelift without any surgery. It is also useful for the removal of scars, warts and skin tags.

This revolutionary technology makes use of plasma that is made when atmospheric gasses are ionized in order to cause the skin fibers to tighten and contract.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

A plasma pen is a precise tool, which forms a plasma by ionizing the atmospheric gas particles that are present between the surface of the skin and the needle’s tip. This creates a tiny lightning bolt also called an electrical arc. The plasma current results in the “zapping” of the excess skin.

The results are visible instantaneously and similar to that of surgical skin tightening procedures. The fibers in the dermis and epidermis layers of the skin contract and the skin tighten for 6 to 12 weeks. The treatment can be repeated after that for maintenance.

IS IT PAINFUL?

The treatment is generally performed in under 20 minutes and it does not cause any substantial pain as a local anesthetic cream is applied to the area before the procedure to numb the skin. It may cause a mild tingling sensation for some people but nothing that is not tolerable.

WHAT ARE THE RISKS OF THE PROCEDURE?

This procedure is not only effective but also extremely safe. There are only minor short-term side effects of this treatment:

• Swelling, this can last for up to seven days
• Redness
• Crusting, this causes a thin crust to form over the treated skin and it disappears after 3-5 days
• There may be soreness or scratching in the treated area

HOW LONG WILL THE PROCEDURE LAST?

While this is a long-lasting treatment, as you age, problems related to aging, such as saggy skin, wrinkles etc. may become visible again (generally after 5 years). You can get the treatment repeated again to maintain the smooth skin.
