This non-invasive procedure is used for toning the skin. It can help tighten the skin and reduces slagging on the body and face. It can also stimulate the production of collagen, a protein found in the skin that makes it look younger and firmer.
WHAT IS RADIOFREQUENCY SKIN TIGHTENING USED FOR?
This safe skin tightening treatment is used to treat different areas of the body such as:
This procedure is suitable for all types of skin and causes no pain or discomfort.
It utilizes electromagnetic radiation which penetrates the skin and heats the deeper layer to about a 40 degrees. This layer is below the outer layers of the skin and is called dermis. The heating causes a modification of the collagen fibers in the dermis, which causes them to condense. More synthesis of the collagen fibers takes place as the heating triggers the healing mechanism of the skin. This, in turn, causes the skin to tighten and look healthier.
Before the procedure, you may require to wash the area that is going to be treated with warm water, in order to remove makeup product and skin oil so they do not cause hindrances in the radiofrequency treatment. The practitioner may apply a topical anesthetic if required, in order to numb the area. The area that is supposed to be treated is marked, this makes it easier to move the radiofrequency device evenly in the whole area. You may experience a warm sensation since the head of the device radiates heat.
Once the radiofrequency skin tightening procedure is finished (generally this treatment does not take more than an hour), the practitioner will apply a soothing cream to the area.
Right after the procedure, your skin will look and feel visibly tighter than before.
Also, radiofrequency skin tightening does not have any recovery or down time so you can carry on with your work right after the procedure.
The biggest benefit of radiofrequency is that you can effectively achieve a contoured skin in a relatively safer way. It can smoothen your skin and restore the volume to your skin without any surgical downtime.
The number of times you will need to get the treatment depends on the desired results and the area being treated. After two or three sessions, you get to see some substantial results, however, to achieve the best results, a series of 6 to eight sessions are suggested. The break between the sessions can be 3 to 4 weeks long.
The procedure may result in a mild redness, however, it diminishes within 24 hours.
It is important that for 24 hours after you get the treatment done, you avoid applying any cream to the treated area.
